Set in a fictional Northern Qi dynasty, the Yun family faces a crisis after the birth of twin daughters, as twins are seen as an ill omen. The eldest daughter, Yun Xin, is groomed to be the future crown princess, but family pressure and societal bias make her path difficult. Her twin sister, Yun Qing, is gentle and the sisters share a close bond, though their relationship becomes strained as family expectations grow.
